EVALUATION OF THE SEMI-FINAL ROUND

1. Each language exam in the Semi-Final Round consists of 30 multiple-choice questions.
2. The first 20 questions are worth 3 points each, while the final 10 questions are worth 4 points each. The maximum possible score is 100 points. 
   
3. Each incorrect answer will result in a 1-point deduction from the total score.
4. Results will be announced separately for 3 grade groups within each language category:
   GROUP 1 > Grades 3, 4, 5
   GROUP 2 > Grades 6, 7, 8
   GROUP 3 > Grades 9, 10, 11
5. The top 3 participants in each grade group and language category of the Semi-Final Round will receive a physical Gold Medal (Gold 1, Gold 2 or Gold 3) and a Certificate of Achievement delivered by post.
   - Students scoring 90-100 points: Digital Gold Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
   - Students scoring 75-89.99 points: Digital Silver Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
   - Students scoring 55-74.99 points: Digital Bronze Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
   - Students scoring 25-54.99 points: Digital Honorable Mention Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
   - Students scoring 0-24.99 points: Digital Participation Certificate
6. The top 10 students in each grade group and language category will qualify for the Final Round (Speaking & Essay Writing) based on the results of each Semi-Final Round Exam. The two Semi-Final Rounds are independent, and each will have its own qualification results. A total of 120 students from each Semi-Final Round or 240 students across both Semi-Final Rounds, will qualify for the Final Round (Speaking & Essay Writing).

EVALUATION OF THE FINAL ROUND

The performance of each participant in the Final Round will be assessed based on the following criteria: 

Speaking
> Fluency & Pronunciation (25 pts)
> Grammar & Accuracy (25 pts)
> Vocabulary & Expression (25 pts)
> Comprehension & Communication Skills (25 pts)

Essay Writing
> Content & Ideas (25 pts)
> Organization & Coherence (25 pts)
> Language Use (25 pts)
> Accuracy & Mechanics (25 pts)  

• The final ranking will be determined based on a combined score from all three exams, weighted as follows:
  - 40% of the Semi-Final Round Score
  - 35% of the Speaking Exam Score
  - 25% of the Essay Writing Score
• The top 3 participants in each grade group and language category will receive hard copy medals and certificates by mail.
• The top 3 students in each grade group and language category, 36 students in total, will receive the following awards in the form of discounts on Grand Final participation fees:
  - 1st Places → 75% discount
  - 2nd Places → 50% discount
  - 3rd Places → 25% discount
• The remaining 7 participants in each grade group and language category who participate in the Final Round exams will receive a Digital Participation Certificate.

GRAND FINAL DISCOUNT AWARDS & TERMS OF USE

1. Students who have earned a discount and wish to attend the Grand Final must apply within 15 days after the exam results are announced. Late applications will be accepted only if places are available.
2. An award-winning student cannot participate in the Grand Final alone. The student must either be part of a group of 8 students or attend with an accompanying adult. The discount applies only to the award-winning student and not to the group or accompanying adult.
3. Grand Final discounts are not automatically applied during registration. Students must inform the organizers by email during the registration process that they have earned a discount. If payment is made without the discount being applied, the excess amount paid will be refunded afterwards.
4. Students from 3rd grade who have won the Grand Final discount must attend the program with an accompanying adult. Even if these students are part of a group of 8 people and the group teacher takes responsibility for them, they can only participate with an accompanying adult.
5. The Grand Final discount winner and the accompanying adult must share a room. An additional fee will apply if they wish to stay in separate rooms, subject to availability.
6. Grand Final discounts are calculated based on the Early Bird price, when an Early Bird price is available.
7. These discounts are non-transferable, cannot be applied to future years and cannot be redeemed for cash.
8. Students who qualify for discounts in multiple categories are eligible for only one discount and the highest discount will apply. These discounts are valid only for the Grand Final and do not apply to optional trips or programs.
9. If a student registers and pays the deposit or remaining amount before receiving a discount, the discount rate earned will be refunded.
